How would it sound to lose 4-6 inches from your waistline or achieve a six-pack in a two-hour surgical procedure? That’s the kind of amazing result you can receive from abdominal liposuction. It’s a very thorough treatment of the entire midsection of the body from just below the breasts/pectoralis muscles to the sides of the breasts and down to the hip rolls, flanks, and pubic area.
That six-pack can be achieved through abdominal liposuction with etching (also known as differential liposuction) – a fantastic technique to enhance a man’s physique. Let’s face it – some men could work out 24/7 and never get the abdominal definition they want. It’s a harsh genetic reality. This cosmetic surgery technique solves that problem by giving you the results you deserve from your efforts.
What can abdominal liposuction do for me?
It can help you drop two to four dress sizes, or it can provide men with subtle or very sculpted, toned abs – depending on preference. Our patients have told us that their clothes fit better, and they feel more self-confident after abdominal liposuction. Men who decide on the procedure for defined abs feel proud to remove their shirts on the beach.
What can I expect during abdominal liposuction?
We perform advanced “tumescent liposuction” that utilizes Dr. Hunstad’s tumescent anesthesia invention called the “Hunstad System.” This is a popular system that is now considered an important technique in the field after its invention in 1992. Dr. Hunstad has trained Dr. Kortesis, his partner in this technique, so whomever you choose for your abdominal liposuction procedure, you will receive the best care available by surgeons with extensive liposuction experience.
During the procedure, we choose inconspicuous areas for a small incision – less than one quarter of an inch – and anesthetic fluid is injected to numb the fat that will be extracted, as well as to minimize bleeding.
A hollow tube called a “cannula” is inserted into the incision, and a mechanical, motorized device known as power-assisted liposuction is used to move the cannula back and forth, allowing the surgeon a great degree of precision and control.
A syringe liposuction technique may be used in smaller areas. This is a minimally invasive technique in which the surgeon inserts a syringe with a tube. A suction is then created when the syringe is withdrawn so that the fat withdraws simultaneously.
How long does it take to recover from abdominal liposuction?
Most patients recover within one to two weeks. Even the results of abdominal liposuction with etching are visible within two weeks. There may be some residual swelling for about three months, but this is usually barely noticeable.
There will be some bruising and swelling after liposuction, but any pain and discomfort can be easily controlled with medication during your recovery period.
Of course, we will monitor your progress and answer any questions you have as you heal from your surgery.
How long does abdominal liposuction last?
While it’s important to exercise and maintain a healthy diet in order to avoid developing more fat in the abdominal area, abdominal liposuction is permanent.
