Combined Procedures

Combining procedures, when feasible, can also combine your recovery periods and reduce the number of times you need to be under anesthesia. At HK, when you want more than one procedure, we perform them concurrently in a safe and efficient fashion whenever possible, and we always try to enhance what we do. For example, if we can provide an improved contour by adding fat grafting to your procedure, we will do so. If you have stretch marks, we can treat those with a laser during your tummy tuck. These are just two examples of the possibilities we offer.

The bottom line is that we want you to receive optimal results!

Below, you will find out about some of our most common combined procedures.

Our state-of-the-art facility is fully accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. We even go beyond the requirements of accreditation by providing board-certified anesthesiologists and nurses who are all certified in advanced cardiac life support. Fat Grafting with Breast Augmentation

At HK, we use a new technique for fat grafting that causes less disruption to the harvested fat cells. What does this mean for you? More of the fat that is injected will “take,” which means that less of the fat will be absorbed by the body. When fat is absorbed, it sometimes causes the need for a second injection procedure in order to achieve the contour you want. Our technique also allows us to perform fat grafting faster than in the past with less downtime for you.

Most practices use fat grafting solely for restoring lost volume to the face or augmenting the lips. In our practice, we frequently use it the contour the breasts as well during a Breast Augmentation. The fat injections can prevent implants from being seen through the skin. The fat can also “fill in” any areas that need to be contoured so that you walk away from our office with the best possible breast shape.

The fat can be taken (through Liposuction) from areas where you have unwanted fat. You can use this technique to reduce the donor sites, such as the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs. If you do not wish to reduce any areas of the body, we will take only the amount of fat we need for your injections. It’s your choice! Read more about Fat Grafting for the Breasts.

Fat Grafting with a Facelift or Neck Lift

As mentioned in the section above about Fat Grafting with Breast Augmentation, we use a new technique for this procedure that causes less disruption to the harvested fat cells. This allows more of the fat that is injected to “take” and avoid absorption by the body. When fat is absorbed, it sometimes causes the need for a second injection procedure to achieve the desired contour. Our technique also allows us to perform fat grafting faster than in the past with less downtime for you.

When Fat Grafting is combined with a Facelift, we not only remove excess skin and fat to make your face look firmer, but we also add lost volume to areas that need it. This helps you look more youthful and also results in a more natural-looking Facelift.

Using your own fat to contour areas of the face with micro fat grafting techniques means that you will not have an allergic reaction to the injections. The fat can be taken (through Liposuction) from areas where you have unwanted fat so that the donor sites – such as the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs – are reduced. If you do not wish to reduce any areas of the body, we will take only the amount of fat we need for your injections. It’s your choice! Read more about Fat Grafting for the Face.

Fat Grafting with a Buttock Lift

Fat Grafting with a Buttock Lift allows us to add volume and lift to the buttocks with or without implants. If a buttock implant is used, the injected fat prevents the implant from being seen through the skin.

As mentioned in the previous sections, our Fat Grafting technique causes less disruption to the harvested fat cells. As a result, more of the fat that is injected will “take,” which means that less of the fat will be absorbed by the body. When fat is absorbed, it sometimes causes the need for a second injection procedure to achieve the desired contour. Our technique also allows us to perform fat grafting faster than in the past with less downtime for you.

The fat can be taken (through Liposuction) from areas where you have more fat than you’d like so that the technique reduces the donor sites, such as the abdomen or thighs. If you do not wish to reduce any areas of the body, we will only harvest the amount of fat we need for your injections. It’s your choice! Read more about Fat Grafting for the Buttocks.

Tummy Tuck with Icon Laser for Stretch Mark Treatment

When you get a Tummy Tuck, it can be frustrating to walk out with stretch marks. Wouldn’t you prefer to have a flatter stomach and slimmer waist, as well as fewer stretch marks? This is why, when appropriate, we combine your tummy tuck with an ICON Laser treatment – an FDA-approved procedure for stretch mark treatment. Read more about Tummy Tuck with the ICON laser.

Non-Surgical Skin Resurfacing with a Facelift

A Facelift does wonders for your face by firming the skin and removing excess fat and skin that cause you to look older. It does not, however, smooth the fine surface lines and wrinkles that are caused by sun damage. For this reason, we often recommend that our patients have a skin resurfacing procedure along with their Facelift. This can be done before or after the facelift procedure.

These procedures, such as the Fractional CO2 Laser, can make the surface of the skin look much younger, while the Facelift addresses the deeper layers of tissue of the face. It’s a powerful combination for a smooth and youthful result. Read more about Facelift. Read more about the Fractional CO2 Laser.

Facelift with Eyelid Lift, Forehead/Brow Lift, Cheek Augmentation, or Rhinoplasty

While it is not always possible to perform two surgeries at the same time, it is an option for many patients. We can sometimes combine a Facelift with other facial surgery procedures, such as an Eyelid Lift, Forehead/Brow Lift, Cheek Augmentation, or Rhinoplasty (nose surgery.)

During your examination and consultation, we will let you know if your choice of surgeries can be done at the same time. Your safety, of course, is our first priority, so if any of these surgeries will be extensive for you, it might be preferable to do them separately. That said, it is not uncommon for us to be able to combine facial surgeries and reduce your recovery period.

Non-Surgical and Laser Procedures

We almost always combine laser procedures and other non-surgical procedures for comprehensive skin rejuvenation. These make for an especially powerful trifecta:

By combining these three treatments (or others), we can address several skin issues in one appointment with only one recovery period.
